Do you want to gain experience in creating iOS or Android apps? Are you interested in Medical Technology? How about winning monetary prizes while gaining recognition among your peers? Well then, sign up for Med AppJam!

The Med AR Jam is a two-week long coding competition where students from all disciplines come together to form teams and create a fully functional and mobile medical application on the iOS or Android platform. Apps are judged on various criteria and the top teams are awarded prizes and recognition.

With special thanks to Apple, our theme this year is Augmented Reality (AR) in relation to health care. Your goal is to create medical applications that range from helping medical students/faculty in teaching/learning to clinical apps for use by patients or clinicians with the new ARkit by Apple.

“Developments in information technology are transforming virtually every industry,” said Hal Stern, the Ted and Janice Smith Family Foundation Dean of the Bren School. “It is exciting to see UC Irvine medical and computer science students work together to bring such changes to healthcare.”
